That puts you on State itself, south of the downtown core, close enough that a dinner reservation downtown afterward is an easy drive rather than a project. Parking is on site, so neither of you is circling State Street for a space before the good part starts.

Have five things ready before you dial and the call takes under two minutes. The date. A window rather than a single time, because two therapists have to line up and a little flexibility usually buys you a better slot. Which length you want, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Whether either of you wants an add-on. And both first names, so the therapists know who they are each working with.

If you are not sure about the length yet, say so on the call. It is a faster conversation with a person who books this every day than it is a decision to make in advance from a page.

A few questions are worth asking while you have someone on the line. How late a two hour session can start, if you are aiming for an evening. Whether the time you want is genuinely open or whether an hour either side has more room. And whether anything either of you should mention about pressure, injuries or pregnancy needs to be flagged before the day, so it is not a surprise to your therapist in the room.

Same-day appointments do happen. They are not guaranteed for a couples booking, since the suite and two therapists all have to be free at once, but the answer is often yes and it costs you one phone call to find out. Weekday afternoons are usually the softest part of the calendar. Elite takes walk-ins as well, though this is the one booking where arriving unannounced is the weakest plan in the building.

For an anniversary, a birthday or anything that lands on a Saturday, book further out than feels necessary. Couples slots are a smaller pool than single massage slots and they close first.

If something about the booking needs to change, calling the spa is faster than any other route, and there is no penalty for asking a question before you commit to a time. Know the one deadline that costs money, though. A session cancelled less than twenty-four hours before it starts is not refunded, so a wobbly Saturday is better moved on Thursday.

One last practical note. Give yourself a few extra minutes on arrival rather than pulling up at the exact minute your session starts. The clock on a couples booking runs against two therapists at once, and the calmest version of this experience starts with neither of you hurrying through the door.
